This week the Food and Drug Administration ordered the makers of tadalafil (known chemically as cialis) to reimburse a company for the drug’s use for erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Cialis is used to treat erectile dysfunction. However, the company won’t reimburse the company for the use of the drug for the purposes of treating the condition.
The FDA ordered Cialis’s makers, Allergan and Pfizer Inc., to reimburse the company for the amount it received for the drug’s use for erectile dysfunction. The company also received $500,000 from Pfizer for the use of the drug. The company also received a $500,000 settlement from Allergan for the use of the drug.
The company is currently offering Cialis for free to patients who are diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Patients who have been diagnosed with BPH and who are eligible for free tadalafil may be able to choose from a range of options, including Cialis, to treat their symptoms and improve their quality of life. headache, back pain, muscle aches, pain in arms and legs, facial flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion. Uncommon (seen in 1 to 10 in every 1,000 patients)
dizziness, stomach ache, feeling sick, being sick (vomiting), reflux, blurred vision, eye pain, difficulty in breathing, presence of blood in urine, prolonged erection, pounding heartbeat sensation, a fast heart rate, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, nose bleeds, ringing in the ears, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles and feeling tired. Rare (seen in 1 to 10 in every 10,000 patients)
fainting, seizures and passing memory loss, swelling of the eyelids, red eyes, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, hives (itchy red welts on the surface of the skin), penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen and increased sweating. Heart attack and stroke have also been reported rarely in men taking CIALIS. Most of these men had known heart problems before taking this medicine.
Partial, temporary, or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes has been rarely reported.
Do not take CIALIS if you are taking the medicine with:
nitrates such as isosorbide, isosorbide mononitrate, strongcad, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate in nitrate medicines for heart conditions - used in combination with CIALIS for erectile dysfunction - used for the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or as a treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension
